I been M.I.A on here, it's not easy trying stay creative whiles earning a living at not being creative. none the less in my free time here and there I made time to work on my craft, portfolio, and just random things. so here are some sketch ideas I've been throwing around for various things.
So this first one is a villain concept I'm trying to work out, his body is part machine and part human. I'm not the best at drawing mechanical things so I wanted to fix the arm make it look more mechanical yet threatening, like yea you don't want to get grabbed by that or it looks as if there is more to that arm then you would know.
This is my first attempt to come up with a better arm, so I got a bunch of machine and tech stuff reference and started drawing to understand how it should look.
This one is another villain his body has like a natural plated armor growth. In the story this would be his first transformation. also I wanted his body at this stage to have markings all over it, maybe like tribal markings. Hence the face to the left.
Adding on to transformations this is a final transformation concept to another story that is a continuation to the one above this with the villain with the plated armor. In this I wanted the transformation to be this huge hideous terrifying monster. At first I was thinking this could work but since the theme of that story is heaven and hell I need it more demonic while this looks more dragon like. so I have did a quick study in to evil and what we look at as evil. I'll post that on another post.
This is a quick action sketch I did of the hero to the series with the dragon transformation above. A few things are off but I liked how it turned out.
HERE COMES THE RANDOM!!! The was a mess up I turned around, the pose was for another character and I felt I messed it up so in stead of trashing the paper or erasing and restarting I turned it in to something else. It didn't come out too bad, also I didn't have a concept forehand that it would look like this I just drew it. I do a lot of that and since I'm my own worst critic yall will see more stuff like this.
This last one was something I did on the train to work. It started with the character in the middle and the way I drew it looked like an action pose so I went ahead and made it an action scene. The background I did on the way home from work. and once again I didn't plan this it just came out, I just put down shapes and then start to connect the dots.
Sorry it took so long to comment but you been doing great work since I knew you and you get better with time.
